Hello and welcome to the music ministry page. By clicking on this page, you’ve already shown that you have a desire to be involved in the music ministry, and we are always looking for more volunteers. We would be thrilled to have you join the music team here at MSBC. If you are considering being apart of the special music, you’re in the right place. Just keep reading to see what our expectations are for singing or playing in church.

Music Ministry Expectations

  • Have a Right Heart Attitude.
    • It is very easy to rely in our own strength and ability when it comes to serving in the music ministry. You must be aware that as you serve, you are simply giving back to God what He has gifted you with. Pride hinders the work of God. We sing to bring honor to God alone and must always be self examining our motives.
  • Come for Rehearsals.
    • We want to do our best for the Lord and rehearsals are one way we can achieve excellence. It gives the musicians the opportunity to run through their song, and helps the Audio-Visual team make sure everything runs smoothly for service.
    • Because we have rotating praise teams, musicians are scheduled 3 weeks in advance via Planning Center, an online tool for scheduling musicians and providing them with music and resources they need to practice. Musicians are expected to respond to emailed schedule requests in a timely fashion.
  • Be Well Prepared.
    • It is very important when you are a part of the praise team that you put in the time needed to be well rehearsed before you perform. Again, you want to do your best for the Lord and when you are not prepared that will distract you from singing for the Lord.

Final Words

Thank you for showing interest and for prayerfully considering being involved in the music ministry. Music is a vital part of our worship service each week and it’s such a privilege to serve God in this ministry. I know it takes time and effort, but it is well worth it. We pray God continues to bless this ministry as we continue to do our part and faithfully serve Him.
