Welcome Team

The Welcome Team is one of the most important ministries in the church. When guests are warmly welcomed it creates a positive first impression of MSBC, which will be instrumental in the growth of our church body. The Welcome Team consists of greeters who are often one of the first people someone new to our church may meet. It's important to come with a positive attitude and provide a smile and warm welcome to all of those who arrive for the church worship service.

Welcome Team ~ Ministry Introduction & Leadership Expectations

  • It is a 20 minute commitment for each Sunday. You arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled service and continue to greet attenders five minutes into the service.
  • We will familiarize you with the layout of the church building and class offerings so you can readily assist visitors. You will also be trained on security procedures you need to know when situations arise.
  • Greeters also distribute our bulletin and newsletter as people enter the building.
  • We ask you to serve at least once a month. Our Greeters are the first persons our guests meet. It can be intimidating when you come to church for the first time, but a greeter can alleviate fears by warmly welcoming guests. This team is the front door of our hospitality ministry!

Final Words

The purpose of this position is to provide the ministry of hospitality to both members as well as visitors coming to worship at Main Street Baptist Church. When we connect our hospitality with our story of being welcomed and embraced through the grace and love of Christ, it becomes more than just a technique. Hospitality embraces people with God’s heart of love, creating a warm and welcoming space where people feel at home, and where strangers become friends and family. We are excited to see your talents used for the Lord in this way.
